Case Management

New Way offers all its clients and stakeholders an individualized Case Manager which supports each youth throughout their journey at New Way. Each Case Manager has been Trauma-Informed Trained and Certified on Pro-active communication in order to ensure that they are the best bridge between the CFT team and stakeholders.

Case Managers are responsible for ensuring that everyone in the youths CFT is aware of their progress, setting up appointments and providing daily Case Management or Rehabilitation Services.

Individual Therapy

For some youth in care receiving counseling and our therapy can be a difficult challenge. However, New Ways Clinical Team meets youth where they are at physically, mentally and emotionally.

Currently New Way STRTP has 3 full-time individual clinicians on staff and a supervising Clinical Director whom has over 25 years experience working with At-Risk youth.

Crisis Management

We understand that every youth in care is different, unique and each requires their own services. We also understand no two crisis are the same! Our entire team has been trained and some are certified instructors in Crisis De-escalation through the Pro-ACT institute. Alongside the Ventura Crisis Team, New Way’s Team gudies all youths through the process of ensuring they return back to baseline as quick and Trauma-Free as possible.

Independent Living Skills

Teaching our youth to become the Leaders of Tomorrow requires us to focus on the leadership of self, TODAY!

Each youth works with their assigned Clinician and Facility Manager to ensure that Independent Living Skills are thought in a fashion that is laid out in a extensive Needs and Services Plan. This plan serves as the blueprint for each youths MH and recovery services.

Assessment

Upon being accepted into New Way STRTP the assessment avenue begins through a rigorous and enhanced tiered process. In collaboration with placement counties, prior MH programs, educational liaisons, Casa Workers and pertinent stakeholders the assigned clinician create a clear picture for the MH team to identify key areas of growth for the youth and CFT team.

Family Therapy

Family therapy is available for all youth in care whom have the goal of reunifying with family members, or are re-establishing contact with long term relatives. Family Therapy not only serves as an opportunity to work through barriers, it allows the youth and family to identify key things in order to get him/her home quickly and safely.

Supervision

New Way STRTP is open 24 Hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our team is committed to the growth of each youth in care which means there are no days off!

The healing journey takes uninterrupted time to fully begin and for that reason we supervise our youth throughout the day/night. There is always a staff member awake and management on-call to answer any questions you may have.

Child and Family Team

New Way STRTP stands on the principle that a youth is only as strong as his or her village. We truly cannot work on the root barriers of a youth alone without outside support. It all starts with the participation of the “Child and Family Team”! Without the support or participation of the stakeholders of the youth in cares team the success becomes diminished and lengthy. Throughout the years we have noticed the more active a CFTM team is, the more likely it is the youth will graduate the program more quickly. Members of the CFTM are encouraged to participate, ask questions and bring ideas that will support the growth of the youth.

New Way’s Head of Services has been leading CFTM for several counties over the course of the last 3 years on a monthly basis. We encourage all counties to have monthly CFTM’s as part of the collaborative process to speeding up the healing process for youth’s and families.
